I seems that he doesn't plan to make any changes in the contents
of the FAQs other than running them through a HTML filter. He is
also going to make an online beta version available to let the
contributors check how their FAQs are going to look on the CDROM.
He admits that the vague wording in his first request was due to
his anxiety not to give too many details on the technical side of
his project, lest someone might steal his idea of an HTML FAQ CDROM.
He bought the Walnut Creek CDROM after I told him about it, and
he is confident that his product will be much better than this
collection of ASCII texts.
He asked me to forward the following text to the list (he had
already sent a request to join the list, but it seems to be still
in the "in" queue of the list maintainers).
>I realised five problems with that mailing I had:

I still have some problems with his project, but I admit they are
mostly based on his attitude.
I checked the references he gave in his sig:
>PHADE Software, Leibnizstr. 30, 10625 Berlin, GERMANY
>Inh. Frank Gadegast Fon/Fax: +49 30 3128103
>
>phade@contrib.de http://www.contrib.de/~phade
and found out that he has written several PD and shareware
programs (mostly MPEG players and converters), compiled an
MPEG CDROM and maintains the MPEG FAQ. So maybe his contribution
to the multimedia world are indeed as great as he feels them
to be.
Greetings,
Bernhard
