Catching up on really old mail, I've been away on vacation for a week...

I maintain the comp.lang.perl FAQ and am proud to say that I was chosen
by the author (Larry Wall) himself to take over when the old maintainer
could no longer handle it.

I took over the perl FAQ about a year ago. Before that, it had been over
a year since its last posting. Tom kept saying he was working on it,
that he would get something out soon. Somehow soon kept getting longer
and longer. Finally Tom sent the whole thing to me with a note saying
Larry thought it needed someone who could post it more regularly, and
would he turn it over to me until he was back in a position to do it.

The rest, as they say, is history. Tom still hacks up a copy every
couple of months or so and sends it to me, but mostly I plug along on my
own. It's been good for me too. I've had a couple of people who were
writing articles contact me for information, and I've been invited to
lead a collaborative effort on a book.

Steve
