I do. Well, sort-of, since the FAQ hasn't really been released yet. But I
work on a list of all the operating systems supported by the PC and once
I've gotten past the usual systems, there are lots of weird things I
haven't ever heard of. In this case I guess it's probably not even
possible to know the subject inside-out. There's just too much stuff.
But finding information isn't that difficult, there are a lot of people
that are eager to help and I've gotten lots of input from all over the
Net so I guess not being familiar with the topic isn't that much of a
drawback in this case.
As to *why* I started this thing, I don't really know. When I was working
with a local IAP, I was always the one claiming that there had to be more
documentation available and as a result I usually ended up writing it
because no one else would bother...
In this case, I was looking for this information, found some indication
that some people had thought about it but it seems that there never was a
serious attempt to put the thing together. Plus I was really getting
tired of people saying 'PC' when they meant 'DOS' or 'Windoze'.
(And I don't even work in the computing field anymore :-/ )
Fred.
