I, too, have recently converted my FAQ and Reading Lists to HTML, and these
serve as the source of the posted version. People can see the HTML version at
http://shamash.nysernet.org/lists/scj-faq/HTML/index.html

To create the posted version, I run a perl script that parses files of the
form:

#include ../FAQ/01-FAQ-intro.hdr

Archive-name: judaism/FAQ/01-FAQ-intro
Soc-culture-jewish-archive-name: faq.01-FAQ-intro
Posting-Frequency: Monthly

Frequently Asked Questions on Soc.Culture.Jewish

#HTMLinclude-ns faq/intro.html
#HTMLinclude faq/hl-index.html

The following is an index to the questions and other information contained
in each section:

...

The parser understands three statements: #include, #HTMLinclude, and
#HTMLinclude-ns. The #HTML versions use lynx -dump to produce the output. All
my FAQ pieces are of the form:
HEADER
<HR>

BODY

<HR>
NAVIGATION

So what gets included in the faq is the stuff between the <HR>s. If the normal
(i.e., no -ns) form is used, the first paragraph after the <HR> becomes the
SUBJECT:. I've already modified my perl posting script to generate each piece
just before posting.
