I have always refused to put a book in the bibliograph that I have
not been able to obtain, whether free or otherwise, as (1) it frustrates
people trying to get it, and (2) people are likely to take the FAQ as a
sort of endorsement, hawever many disclaimers I add.
Wuth products, I can't really do that.
As long as the information is factual, and neutrally presented, no-one seems
to object.
I allow vendors -- and authors of free software -- to write a paragraph of
text about their product, and to give sales contacts etc., but I often rewrite
the text (and ask their approval for the changes), since people are apt to
use superlatives when describing their own products...
