A good solution to both "Can you send me the FAQ?" and "Can you send
it to me whenever it changes?" is to put your files on a fileserver
somewhere. If there's a mailing list related to your subject, perhaps
the machine that's serving it could also provide the FAQ. For new
users, it's a little simpler than FTP-by-mail.

On the LISTSERV I use, at least, multi-part files can be collected
together into packages and retrieved with a single command; and best
of all, interested people can "subscribe" to files or packages for
either FUI (File Update Information?) or AFD (Automatic File
Distribution?) and receive either announcements or complete files
whenever they change.
