I have just started working this last week on a new FAQ
for the Magic Cap devices, with the intended association
with the mailing list, comp.sys.pens and a magic cap group, if and
when it is formed, And I was hoping to get any tidbits of wisdom
for organizing a FAQ folks might like to share. I have read the
FAQ FAQ ( :-) and find I still have Many questions (although, I feel
very informed about FAQ Headers ;-)

Starting a new FAQ is quite a task, I have been going through multi-Megs
posts here, and my co-editors have been going through Different sets of info
equally large. It seems the biggest problem is not editing the stuff, which
takes a Gooooood bit of time, but contacting people for permission to
include their wisdom. As a compromise, initially we are simply editing
posts/email down to their kernel's of wisdom, and referencing the original
poster with email, and company (If it seems relevant, ie. Tech support
from General Magic (the magic cap folks) would be referenced as such,
while an accountant for Legal's Seafood might not be referenced as such).
Is this a sufficient practice for permission of info re-use? Or do we
need to send out several hundred email's requesting permission, or REally,
Completely re-state everything.

Not quite sure How I want to format the FAQ yet either.....Number of parts,
width of line (since it is a FAQ for non-wide screen devices, and folks
Might want to have part of the FAQ on their machine, it might be nice to
be formatted in such a width, and in smaller chunks so it would be more
flexible memory -wise.....But that means more parts).

This of course complicates the construction of the HTML version we are
working on......

Anyway, we are just getting started and would appreciate any comments,
suggestions or advice you would care to give.......Thanks......
