At this moment, there are 485 messages in the news.answers queue.
We're currently processing messages from October 1; if you submitted
something before then and haven't heard back about it, please contact
us.

If you're seriously interested in volunteering, drop us a note for
more information. Minimum requirements are about 5 hours a week and a
reasonably fast telnet connection to machines at MIT (use 'ping -s
mit.edu' to check; a response time longer than 200 ms will make it
very difficult). As Ed Reid pointed out, though, there is a learning
curve associated with becoming a moderator, because of which we can't
add new moderators as quickly as we might like, so be prepared to have
your name added to a waiting list.
