I've taken the opposite approach: I maintain the FAQ "source" in HTML
and use Lynx to dump a formatted text version (I do pass the HTML
through a filter or two beforehand). This way the FAQ is not
translated to HTML and thus I have more control.

If anybody is interested in the scripts (such as they are) please send
e-mail.
