Concerning the mail thread:
In addition to setting my listservs to digest and reading off-line (I use
Eudora for Mac), I use a browser to 'skip' through my digested mail.
DigestBrowser v.1.6 was origianally made for reading the huge Info-Mac
digest. I discovered it works just fine for any list/digest that is
structured like this one that has a list of subject lines at the opening of
the digest.
I open the digest in the browser; I get a double window with subj. lines
above, text below; click the subj. I want to read, skip the others. Perf!
I believe another browser is called EasyView, and I believe that most of
these share ware applications are available to work on PC's with windows,
etc. Do an archie search or ask a question on the appropriate forum (IBM,
PC's. Windows, etc.) I love the way it works. Saves tons of time and I
can avoid the threads I don't care to follow.
