As someone new to this game, but who also very carefully read (several
times) the FAQ for *.answers, I tripped over something that was mentioned
in a mailing earlier today. Following the requested approval process,
I posted my FAQ to the home newsgroups as well as news.answers. I didn't
expect my posting to show up in news.answers, but I did expect it to appear
in the home newsgroups. When it didn't, I thought there was something
wrong with my posting server.

I would like to see the instructions say something like:

To submit your FAQ for approval, add news.answers (and other
*.answers groups as appropriate) to the groups header line
and post it. This posting will not appear in ANY group - the
presence of a moderated group in the groups header and the
lack of a suitable Approved line will result in the posting
being mailed to the moderators instead of being posted, even
if you listed other, non-moderated groups in the header.

Until you receive approval, you must continue posting your
FAQ in the normal fashion, omitting *.answers from the header.
When you get the approval, add *.answers and the indicated
Approved line and then post that way from then on.

This is my understanding of the process. I'm sure someone will let me
know if I still don't have it right.
