copyright infringements - proof of posting

I have just found a 5-month old FAQ of mine in a UK magazine. The
FAQ usually contains a copyright notice but I was not contacted
for permission for its use and they edited out both my name and
the copyright.

I am seeking advice before I contact the editor and author but I
am anticipating that I will need to prove that I posted the FAQ
which I believe the article was based on. For that particular month,
I don't have a copy of the entire posting with headers but I do know
what the message id was. Is this enough?

I know there have been numerous discussions here about copyright
infringements but I suffered from the it-won't-happen-to-me
syndrome and so I didn't pay that much attention. Even so, I'd
appreciate any advice I can get.

Thanks.

Paola
