If the entire news.answers moderation team is too busy to respond
to requests, could you please relax the rules for waiting for
approval of changes?
No. It has been our experience that unfortunately, when FAQ
maintainers make changes to the structures of their FAQs, they
frequently get it wrong the first time. In fact, my impression is
that they get it wrong more often than right, but I don't have any
hard numbers to back that up.
We are working to decrease the delays. At least two of the moderators
who have been out of touch for a while have started doing work again.
Furthermore, we have once again offered to take on new volunteers to
help with the job.
I'm afraid that that's just going to have to be enough. As I've said,
our past experience has been that the requirement of prior approval is
necessary, because FAQ maintainers make mistakes.
