Re: A request for permission to use copyrighted FAQ's

I would insist on two things:

(a) The copyrights on the FAQ derived sections of your book should remain with
their respective FAQ maintainers (or whatever so they don't get in
trouble for using YOUR work).

(b) Some effort should be made to benefit the internet community with this
work. For example a small percentage of the profits could be directed
toward the FAQ archive site, RTFM.MIT.EDU. Any appropriate contribution
(not even necessarily monetary) would be satisfactory. For example,
making the book available via annonymous FTP would also be a
contribution.

Item (a) is the only one that's REALLY important to me. I put in (b) because I
just think you ought to give something back, though I'm not particulary
interested in a copy of the book.

Let me know what you're going to do... but until AT LEAST item (a) is cleared
up, the answer is no for the "comp.sys.ibm.pc.soundcard FAQ".
