I'd be in favor of this in principle (I run a nascent free net-access site
with 150 users; I'm setting up our news feed now so I can start posting my
FAQs again :-)) but it sounds like an invitation to protracted squabbles
over which systems are eligible.

Assuming we can get the publishers to agree to a profit-sharing formula,
let's keep it simple and focused. Any other way lies madness.

I, personally, will not grant permission to these people unless they agree
that *I* retain copyright on the HTML "corrected" text. They can settle for
the lion's share of the royalties and like it --- I have no intention of
putting *my* right to move to HTML at legal hazard.
