I would, for several reasons:

- That wasn't my motivation for maintaining an FAQ.

- For lack of arrangements otherwise, I believe my implicit obligation
to those who contributed information is that I will not turn around and
sell it.

- My FAQ is targeted towards a recreational, hobbyist audience
(specifically Amateur Radio, which has a proud tradition of
non-commercial activities and community service).

- The FAQ exists, and is posted regularly, thanks in part to generous
net access at my University. While they take a broad interpretation of
what constitutes "research," they would very strongly object to my making
money using taxpayer-funded equipment and network connections.

- Even if I posted from a commercial site, and all of my other concerns
were mitigated somehow, I'm not quite ready for all the legal implications
going into business for myself would entail (Yes, I said "business," including
the payment of taxes on income. Everyone does realize that the IRS, or other
suitable tax-collecting agency for non-US authors, wants its share, right?)

This is not to say that I would object to further exposure for my FAQ in
print (In fact, a pointer to the archives and newsgroups from which it
may be obtained was printed, with my permission, in the 1993 "CQ Amateur
Radio Almanac"), just that there are many reasons why I don't feel it is
proper for me to start making my contribution into a money-making
venture.
