To all writers of FAQ's

We all find the USENET newsgroups FAQ's to be very useful. To
encourage novice use of the Internet, and use of USENET, we are
preparing to publish a book, in hardcopy format, that contains many
FAQ's (about a hundred or so). This publication will alert novice
Internet users to an often overlooked aspect of the Internet that we
find so useful. We also believe that a book of FAQ's would be a
useful stand-alone reference work; in a library setting it would
expose people to some of the topics that appear on the Internet.

The one remaining step in our publication process is obtaining legal
permission to include the FAQ's in a hardcopy format. This permission
has to be in written form, so: If you are willing to allow us to
include the FAQ you have written, then send us your name, your FAQ
name, and your snail-mail address and we will mail you a release form
and a self-addressed stamped envelope so that you may return the form
to us.

For each FAQ that we use in the book we will re-format the FAQ for the
HTML standard, so that it may be directly acessed through Mosaic.
This should be of use to the Internet community at large.

We do not wish anyone to have a false impression of the work we are
producing. It is:

1) for-profit
2) will be copyrighted (with acknowledgments given to each FAQ writer)
(We are only copyrighting OUR additions, corrections and
reformatting. Each contribution will remain under
its original copyright.)
3) will be produced in LaTeX

If you have any questions or comments on this project, please feel
free to contact either of us.
