Newbie Question

I am about to post my first FAQ to alt.answers and I have a little
question. It is a 4 part FAQ and I wish to fill in the "References:"
field in the header of parts 2 through 4.

What I was going to do was to post part 1, wait and find out what
it's message ID is, then fill it in to parts 2 through 4.

Is there an easier way to do this that doesn't involve this manual step?

P.S. I composed the FAQ offline on a DOS based machine, split it into parts,
then uploaded the parts to my local directory on Netcom.
