To keep this mailing list reasonable focused, please, if you have an
issue which you wish to bring up, don't just cc the mailing list on
your email to others without explaining why you are doing so. It would
be better to not cc the mailing list, but rather simply start a thread
directly discussing on the relevant aspect of the problem, so that mail
replies which may have diverge completely from the issue relevant to
other FAQ maintainers doesn't continue to get cc'ed to the list.

There are aspects of the advertising solicitation which are
specifically relevant to FAQ maintainers; for example, through your
postings you are giving yourselves higher visibility on the Usenet.
I'm sure most of you volunteer your labor for mostly altruistic
reasons, but higher visibility is usually a positive thing. Obviously
a particular partly negative aspect of it has been exposed here.
It's not clear that anything can be done about it in particular by the
*.answers moderators.

Debates of the *GENERAL* question of the legality and appropriateness
of commercial advertising and solicitation on various U.S. and
international networks and through various forms of on-line
communication (email, Usenet) do not belong on this mailing list.

Also, while we do not censure people from asking questions about basic
technical problems they are having with posting their articles (and I
hope they do not take insult at this paragraph), I suggest that
checking with local Usenet site admins for any known problems with
posting to moderated newsgroups and emailing the *.answers moderators
for assistance are more appropriate first steps.
