I understand your frustration with running up against the FAQ rules. But
then, I have to deal with rules every day and I have given up trying to live
a rules-free lifestyle. The state police, my boss, and my family just don't
seem to want me to go willy-nilly about the time span, focusing on what
I think is more important and leaving them in the lurch.

Perhaps another question to ask is why someone doesn't explain, in the
rules for news.answers, why one is required to do what is there. If one
understood the reason for the various restrictions, then one could challenge
any particular one which seemed to be a rule for rules sake, while living wit
the ones that are there for user's sakes.

It does seem rather silly for humans to have to spend a lot of time doing
things to make life easier for computers, rather than vice versa.
