Confused by the FAQ archives

Exactly where can I find the FAQs stored by their archive name? I looked
on rtfm.mit.edu and couldn't find a directory where for instance
comp.sys.sun.misc FAQ was sorted as comp-sys-sun-faq as listed in it's
Archive-name: - instead, there was a file called FAQ: and some text
with _ , etc. in it. Are the archive names not used at all? Could
symbolic links be set up for the archive names? Seems like it would
