Compuserve at least (I can't check AOL because they won't support my
hardware) _has_ in fact gotten a LOT of files off the archives of various
sites and put them on their server for folk to download. And yet as far
as I can tell, they have made little or no effort to make their other archives
available to Internet folk who provided those files and programs.
It kind of gauls me - I would at least appreciate them making a bit of the
non-proprietary data available to internet users (ala Delphi's gopher
server). I know that they can't put a lot of the data that is accessed
via gateways or from their more expensive services up for 'free grabs' but
they could put data that is available in their 'free services' up as a
token gesture.
