This is my first posting to the faq-maintainers discussion list.
I am the maintainer of the DEAF-L discussion list FAQ (the DEAF-L
is a LISTSERV type list, which is gated to NetNews group bit.listserv.deaf-l
if I am not mistaken).
This FAQ is a very new one (less than one month old). It is not *yet*
posted to the news.answers group but I intend to post it after it has gone
few revisions and become somewhat stable.

I understand that there is a standard for the header of news.answers' FAQs
and I'll study it when time comes to post to news.answers my FAQ.

What I'd like to see in the standard proposal discussions - proposals for
standardization of the following items (which may be interspersed at
various places in FAQs):
- Pointers to FTP sites and FTPable files.
- GOPHER pointing information.
- References to books and magazine articles (in both human and computer
readable form!).
- This may have already been specified in the digestification standard
(of which I am not familiar yet), but a standard way to number sections
is desired. Section numbers should be accompanied with a special
flag character to make it easy to search for them by means of a text
editor. I use [6.4]. I saw ~6.4 used in a FAQ, and it too meets the
above requirement.
- WWW, WAIS, etc. links.

The idea is not to try to specify the global format of the FAQ, but to
specify the format of various standard items which could appear at any
order in FAQs.
