During training exercises the recruits wear olive green rubber protective suits which were said to be lined in red-colored wool approximately one centimeter thick and designed to protect against chemical agents.

Comment: Numerous accounts of CW being played in maneuver exercises by both the Cuban army and air force have been received in recent months. Existence of the reported CW training center would further indicate the importance Cuba is placing on CW. The thickness of the suits used is questionable; the size of the training area would indicate that field training is limited to defensive measures.
