ISRAELIS LIKELY TO HIT BACK

Th* fedayeen attack on the Israeli Olympicunicheptember, which ended in the death ofsraelis, will remind Tel Aviv that its problems with the Arabs are far from solved and that such favorable factors as the departure of the Russians from Egypt and the relative QU'et on Ihe frontiers and in th* occupied territories can Quickly be overshadowed by the desperate actionsew Palestinians. The Munich dramahree-month lull in such fedayeenarly May, the same "Blackorganuation responsible for the Munich action attempted unsuccessfully toabena jet liner. Black September is th* terrorist front of Fatah.

The Israeli Government and public arebitter over the latest outrage and will seek to avenge the death of the Israeli athletes. West Germany has already been the target of Israeli press criticism, and bitterness could well be voiced agamst the Meir government itself tor not having taken sufficient security precautions. The sern-official newspaper, Oavar. has called lor "war to the end against these murderous'heir members, and dispatchers, wherever they mayanr warned the Arabgiving sanctuary to the fedayeen tothe terrorist bases within their borders, or Israel will undertake the task" Th* government itserfl expressed almost the exact sentimentsommunique issuedabinet meeting.

Israel is almost certain to strike against fedayeen installations and concentrations in southern Lebanon and in Syria. Fedayeen in Syria may indeedia "attention" from thesince they have been harasvng Israeliin th* Golan Heights for several weeks and since (he Syrians have termed thelthough Tel Aviv maysome quick, dramatic retaliatory strikes in the near future, the Israelis mayore carefully planned military operation in order to deal theery heavy blow.
