The National Intelligence Authority, in. Directive No.nstructed the Director of Central Intelll-genoe to submit for approval by. any supplemental budget required to perform the functions authoriaed in that Directive, In addition to the approprlatione which can be Bade available for thla purpoee by the State, War, and Navy Departments. This matter was subsequently discussed In general terms at the fourth meeting of the National Intelligence Authority.

For security reasons, it is considered desirable that knowledge of the details of any proposed budget should be restrictedinimum nunber of individuals. At the same tine. It Isthat the members of. will desire that. budget be carefully reviewed in detailualified representative.

The Director of Central Intelligence therefore requests that each member of tho National Intelligence Authorityepresentative to serveudget review board which is empowered oollectivoly to act for tbe National Intelligence Authority inproposed budgets for the Central Intelligence Group. It lathat tbe nam of each representative be designated by filling in the attached return memorandum at the earliest practicable date.
