This report is not at variance with the current estimate of Soviet air order of battle in the Port Arthur Kaval Base.

It is estioated that the USSRotal ofin this area. This estimate is based on very fragmentary reports, and the total figure nvay vary as muchore or less on any given date.

A breakdown of the estimated strengthircraft ia as follows;

Four fighter regiuents consistingircraft.

Three ground attack regiacnts composedircraft.

Five bomber regimentsumulative totalircraft.

Fifty others.

All these units, oxceptossible Naval Air Force division, are believed to bo subordinate to the 9th Air Army, with headquarters in the MaritimeDistrict.

Soviet bombardment aircraft in the Port Arthur Naval Base area areto consist primarily of twin-engineype pianos. This type is sufficiently similar, to0 type aircraft to explain the report of tho

that he5 twin engine attack planes similar.

However, it is possible that the USSR nay in fact have0 typo aircraft in the Fort Arthur Naval fasc area.
