Given the fact that at least two country specific immigration groups already exist (for the US and Canada) a new group for immigrants to Australia and Zealand seems appropiate. Further, as the vast majority of Australian and NZ news groups are regional and hence not accessible by overseas news group readers (in this case migrants) the integration into an official category (i.e. misc.) is mandatory for wide propagation. The proponents are currently maintaining their own non-commercial web site to provide information to migrants. The fact that this web site has attracted more than 6,000 visitors in less than 6 months indicates a vital public interest in this topic and a strong need for such a news group.
