This can be old technology such as chalkboards or newer technologies such as whiteboards, overhead projectors or even electronic technologies such as smartboards (which are really incredible).

Teachers need to have plenty of shelf space to store books, games, hands on materials and for children to store stuff to send home.

Children often have runny noses or need to blow their noses. Teachers absolutely need a supply of facial tissue. Many teachers have families help contribute during the school year so that there is an adequate supply throughout the year.

A teacher really needs a desk to store basic equipment and to do work such as grading papers and preparing lessons. The desk allows a teacher to have items on hand to allow them to work their best at those basic functions. It is also nice for the teacher to have a base of operations to work from, even though they don't get to sit there while children are in the classroom.

Inside, a watch isn't necessary. Outside at recess, it is vital to know when it is time to go back into the classroom, so that is when a watch becomes necessary.
