Muhammad Ali Report Abuse
There's nothing I can say about Ali that hasn't already been said. Talented and charismatic the man parlayed his prodigious skill into worldwide fame and became a cultural icon for minorities and the counter culture in America. He was a three time champ, most notably coming back at age 32 to beat George Foreman.

202 professional bouts between 1940 and 1965. He was welterweight champion between 1946 and 1951, and held the middleweight title five times in the Fifties. He fought at a high level for 20 years and never lost to the same man twice. Although, he never knocked down LaMotta ;)

Jack Johnson Report Abuse
The first Black Heavyweight Champion in the early part of the 20th century, Johnson battled horrific racism as a black man who publicly beat up white men. While his size and speed were unheard of in his era, Jack was the first cerebral fighter who eschewed brawling in favor of the scientific approach to pugilism which would become the sport's legacy.

Jimmy Wilde Report Abuse
A legend from the second and third decades of the 20th century, Wilde was a flyweight at a time when the rules were vague and fighters often fought multiple bouts in a single day. Hard facts can be hard to pin to this legend, but he was flyweight champ for seven years and experts consider him one of the hardest hitters ever despite his tiny stature. He also had one of the coolest and weirdest nicknames ever: "Ghost With A Hammer In His Hand"
