Vince Lombardi Report Abuse
Five Championships in Ten years. Plus, they named the Championship trophy after the guy. You can argue wins and losses and accolades all day, but Vince Lombardi remains the master motivator and prototypical football coach. He won the first two Super Bowls ever played and, even cooler, he routinely said things like this: "Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser."

Compiled a record of 167-53-8, including three NFL championships and four AAFC titles. Only had one losing season in 17 years. Is legendary for being one of the greatest offensive minds of his generation and revolutionized the way offense is played in American Football

George Halas Report Abuse
Yes the numbers are mind boggling. Here's a few: six NFL titles, 324 career victories, 40 (!) year coaching career. What you may not know is that Halas was the first coach to hold daily practices and the first the use film of the games to make adjustments.

Bud Grant Report Abuse
What he did with the Vikings and what little money they had to work with is as great as any thing any coach has ever done.

Comments:
He over saw what was probably the greatest defensive run ever when the Vikings defense ranked 2nd, 7th, 5th, and after a hiccup in 72 12th best in the Superbowl era in points against.

Tom Landry Report Abuse
What a resume: 20 career playoff victories, 5 NFC titles, and 2 Super Bowl championships. He coached the Cowboys to 20 consecutive winning seasons, an almost incomprehensible feat. Plus, the guy wore cool hats, which always helps.

Don Shula Report Abuse
Let's see: He's the only coach to have a perfect, undefeated season (1972 Dolphins) and is the winningest coach in NFL history with a career record of 347-173-6. Despite this, he is not considered as innovative as some of the other coaches on this list and was not a "playcalling genius" like many All Time Coaches
