There is no escaping the brilliance and unending gameplay that was found with Metal Gear Solid. One level can provides hours of entertainment as you find new ways to sneak up on guards, avoid the cameras and get the shot. Just make sure you have your cardboard box handy.

Perhaps the most underappreciated and under recognized game for the Playstation there are few games that are half as innovative for their time. It is a game that is impossibly hard to stop playing once you’ve been and impossibly hard to forget about once you’ve stopped.

A huge rise above not only the first Grand Turismo but every other racing game of the time. This included more tracks, more cars and more ways to race that ever before. The quality of this game was unmatched.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater
It is only because of the brilliance of this game that any Tony Hawk game since has gotten any rep. This the first and finest of any skateboarding game, and even if you’ve been playing it since it game out there’s probably still moves you haven’t mastered.

Castlevania
The always popular always successful gaming series, outdid itself with this game. It proved to the Playstation and skeptics of the time that 2D games were not ready to go quietly. With brilliant graphics, music and gameplay this definitely made it seem like 2D games had a chance…even if they didn’t.
