I think,if oblivion is on the 4th place,morrowind deserves the 1st...
Comments:
Totally agree, Morrowind should be the 1st, if not morrowind. Put Deus Ex there!

Excelent role playing, exciting and entertaining, allows the player to really feel and became the character and to control its own life in the game.

'Give me a kiss to build a dream on
And my imagination will thrive upon that kiss'
Louis Armstrong's song, featured in the intro. Such fitting words...

Innovative concept: Guns vs. Magic. And totally awesome otherwise.

Not technically an RPG. It's more in the category of 4x turn-base strategy. However, RPG is about role-playing. In MOM you are role-playing yourself as a great wizard of the world. You'll understand what I mean after you play and have to start desiding which races to be, destroy, and/or conquer, which spells you will grow into first, which allies you want to be friends (while the friendship lasts), which type of troops will characterize your armies, which heroes will you be associated with. It's one of the oldest 4x games, however, it's still argueably, the most complex strategy game ever. Role-playing is part of its complexity. Become a Sage, a Infernal user of black magic, be an artifact / relic user, be a Power mage, be a creature pumper ... there's a huge assortment of variation. I figure, if Diable 2 can be here. Master of Magic can be here too.

The first game bearing this name may be old, but still one of the pc game gems. Sadly, the sequels are far, far worse.
