RE: The tariff classification of a dust mop frame and handle from China.

Dear Mr. Chance:

In your letter dated January 24, 2007, on behalf of Unitex International, Inc., you requested a tariff classification ruling. Samples of the dust mop frame and handle were submitted with your ruling request. You also submitted a cleaning pad for the dust mop. You indicated in your letter that the cleaning pad will be sold separately, and you are not requesting a ruling for the cleaning pad.

The merchandise for which you are requesting a ruling is identified as a dust mop frame and handle composed of aluminum, plastic and nylon. The mop frame measures approximately 18 inches in length and 3½ inches in width. The mop handle measures approximately 35 inches in height. The mop will be used for dusting and cleaning floors.

The samples will be returned as you requested.

The applicable subheading for the dust mop frame and handle will be 7616.99.5090, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other articles of aluminum, other. The rate of duty will be 2.5 percent ad valorem.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
