RE: The tariff classification of a cardigan for girls’ wear from China

Dear Mr. Armani:

In your letter dated May 9, 2006 you requested a classification ruling.

Submitted style JG4831A, manufactured from finely knitted pile fabric of 100% nylon, is characterized by long sleeves, by a full-front, zippered opening that extends into the collar, and is ornamented by sequins.

As you have requested, the sample garment and its accompanying component parts are being returned.

Because there are not clear and continuous lines of demarcation at various locations on this garment, the applicable subheading for it will be 6110.30.3059, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for sweatersand similar articles, knittedof man-made fibers, other, other, other, other, other, girls’, other. The duty rate will be 32 per cent ad valorem.
