RE: The tariff classification of a woman's blazer from Vietnam

Dear Ms. Sarmiento:

In your letter dated December 13, 2004, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of Miss Erika. The submitted sample will be returned to you as requested.

Style P60493 is a woman’s blazer constructed from 100 percent cotton woven corduroy fabric. The garment features a collar, long sleeves with tab and loop trim, two pockets below the waist, a partial lining and a full front double breasted opening secured by one inside button and four outer buttons.

The applicable subheading for style P60493 will be 6204.32.2010, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for women’s or girls’ suits, ensembles, suit-type jackets, blazers, dresses, skirts, divided skirts, trousers, bib and brace overalls, breeches and shorts (other than swimwear): suit-type jackets and blazers: of cotton: other: corduroy: women’s. The rate of duty will be 9.4 percent ad valorem.
