RE: The tariff classification of a ribbon from China.

Dear Mr. Liberati:

In your letter dated April 22, 2002, on behalf of Keystone Mfg. & Supply Co., you requested a tariff classification ruling.

The sample submitted is a piece of ribbon. It is made of 100 percent nylon narrow web fabric. It is imported in coils, or straight lengths with no clips or fasteners.

The applicable subheading for the ribbon will be 5806.32.2000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for narrow woven fabric, other than goods of heading 5807, narrow fabrics consisting of warp without weft assembled by means of an adhesive (bolducs): Other woven fabrics: Of man-made fibers: Other. The rate of duty will be 6.4 percent ad valorem.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
