RE: The tariff classification of a screen house from China.

Dear Ms. Tang:

In your letter dated October 8, 1999, you requested a tariff classification ruling.

The submitted literature depicts a screen house, item number 22653. The roof, corners and base of the structure are stated to be constructed of nylon woven fabric. The side walls of the screen house are composed of a mesh fabric.

The applicable subheading for the screen house will be 6306.22.9010, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for tents: Of synthetic fibers: Other, screen houses. The rate of duty will be 9.4 percent ad valorem.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
