RE: The tariff classification of a screen house from Taiwan.

Dear Ms. Beltran:

In your letter dated November 27, 1996, on behalf of T.J. Trading, Inc., Pasadena, California, you requested a tariff classification ruling.

Submitted are one textile panel and literature for the manufacture of a screen house. The screen house top and sides are made of 100 percent polyethylene knit open work fabric. The panels for the walls and top are precut to sizes 6' x 8', 6' x 10', 6' x 12' and 6' x 16'. Set along the edges of each panel, at every 2 feet, are metal grommets. The frames are not included. It is designed to provide protection from the wind, sun and insects.

The applicable subheading for the screen house will be 6306.22.9010 percent ad valorem, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for tents: Of synthetic fibers: Other, screen houses. The rate of duty will be 9.8 percent ad valorem.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
