Tomy Digital Video TDV450

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

While having a baby monitor can give parents peace of mind, having a digital video baby monitor makes a real difference. As a second time mum, I replaced my earlier monitor due to technical problems with the Tomy digital video monitor. At first it looked like a waste of money but I soon came to realise it true potential.

One key feature that made the real difference was the ability to see my baby in the day and night as well with the IR night vision function. If you own a non video monitor you might not know the importance of having one with video. When I had my previous monitor, I often went to check up on the baby to make sure everything is ok even when the baby wasn't crying and it often woke the baby but with the video monitor, you only go to the room when it is absolutely necessary.

Getting the baby's eating and sleeping routine can be difficult especially if you are a first time mum. The video monitor has a feeding timer option which obviously alerts just the parent unit. The feeding timer consequently allows you to adopt a sleep routine for the baby.

Other good features include temperature gauge on parent unit, pager to find parent unit if missing, a voice talk back to reassure baby before getting to the room and additional parent unit can be added.

If the earlier features mentioned have not won you over then, the ability to take a snapshot of the baby while asleep is going to melt your heart. Many parents wish to have those sleeping angelic pictures of their babies but if your baby wakes up at every little sound then taking a picture on your unit is truly priceless. You can also zoom in and out to get the best position and get great pictures.

It is fairly new and still quite expensive but you are sure to have something good. Buying this monitor is one star buy amongst my baby things.
