T Fal full size Aquaspeed Steam Iron FV5155

Rating: 3 out of 5
  • Currently 3.0/5.0

In my experience there are two negative aspects when it comes to the T Fal full size Aquaspeed steam iron. For one, it is very heavy. By the time I am finished the ironing my right arm feel like I have been lifting weights. This does not make the task, I do not like as it is, any easier. The second down side is that I have recently noticed a small leak. It doesn't matter much now but if it gets any worse, it will eventually make a big mess and I may end up replacing it sooner than later.
Amongst the positive aspects of the T Fal Aquaspeed iron is the fabric guide with different settings. Sometimes it is hard to determine what setting to have the iron on for different fabrics. This guide makes that issue not so much of an issue. The long cord makes it easy to set up the iron where it won't be in any ones way or in harms reach of the kids. It is very sleek which makes it easy to maneuver around sleeves and collars. It takes no time at all to heat up so you are ready to get the tedious job done and over with right away. For those who are either forgetful or may get called away from the task unexpectedly will appreciate the three way auto shut off feature. If the iron is left horizontally or on its side for more than 30 seconds it shuts off automatically. If it is left on sitting upright, so it won't burn through your clothing or the ironing table causing any damage, it will shut off automatically after eight minutes. This safety feature is very convenient for busy home makers with children.
Because the product is so heavy and has developed a small leak over the short few months I have owned it, I can only rate it a three out of five. I do recommend it to those on a budget. It is one of the more affordable irons and does have some handy features.
