I saw this Squier Stop Dreaming, Start Playing guitar and amplifier package at a music shop 40% on sale from the original price $449. I believe it was a good price because the package includes: a Fender Frontman 15G amp, Fender At-3 automatic tuner, instructional DVD, instrument cable, gig bag, guitar strap, and stereo headphone.
I am a beginner and I love to learn how to play a guitar so without any second thoughts I bought the guitar last year. The guitar looks beautiful and flawless, it's a good quality.
Through the instructional DVD I learn all the basic skills in playing my guitar starting with how to use my fingers, tuning, and picking-up techniques to open-position and movable chords. This is a very simple step by step instructional material, very useful for a novice like me.
My guitar is easy to set-up and fine tuning is also easy by using the automatic tuner that goes with it. The tuner uses a modern digital signal processing, with a red and green LED light indicator. All I need to do is turn on the tuner play an open guitar string and when the red lights up it means I need to adjust the pitch. If the green lights up that means the tune is right, really easy.
The sound is perfectly clear and it has a 3 single-coil pickup controls: Master Volume, Tone 1 (Neck Pickup), Tone 2 (Middle Pickup); and 5-way switching for a versatile tonal range Position 1: Bridge Pickup, Position 2: Bridge & Middle Pickup, Position 3: Middle Pickup, Position 4: Middle & Neck Pickup, Position 5: Neck Pickup. With this features it's easy for me to learn and play the music I want while following a song book.
Learning is fast and easy with my guitar and I enjoyed the sound a lot. I never had a problem with the strings, bridge is easy to adjust. The head phone is comfortable however the amplifier broke down after six weeks. I went to the music shop where I bought it and ask them to fix it but they gave me a new one instead.
I would recommend the Squier Affinity Special Strat Pack Fender Guitar to anyone who wants to learn how to play a guitar. It's a good quality, made of hard wood, beautiful and flawless.
