My very first bike was a Schwinn and ever since I have always looked to them when I was in the market for a bike. I recently decided to start mountain biking and after doing some research decided upon the Schwinn 2008 Sumac GDS Men's bike. All in all I have been very please with the performance of my Schwinn and truly feel it is one of the best bikes you can get without forking over the cash for a custom made one.
The Good:
Really, everything about the Schwinn 2008 Sumac GSD is good. From the solid design through the bikes durability there is really nothing I can complain about. I find the bike easy to ride, the gears transfer smoothly and outside of the basic maintaining of the bike it has never had a major breakdown.
The Bad:
If there is anything I think would improve the bike it would be the stock tires. While the tires the Schwinn Sumac comes with are decent I really felt like I needed something a bit more rugged and up to the rough ground I planned to ride on. Also I changed out the seat, but the one the bike came with was honestly fine.
All in all I feel that the Schwinn 2008 Sumac is a great bike for anyone looking to buy a mountain bike. Just as with every Schwinn, this one is made to the highest standards and will serve any biking enthusiast perfectly. Admitted the stock tires could be better, but this is an easy fix and does not take away from the value of the Schwinn 2008 Sumac in the slightest. Again Schwinn has proven that they are one of the best bike makers in the world.
