The PT Cruiser was the first of the cars to revise the retro appearance. These are small cars that have a lot of personality. The 2007 PT Cruiser was introduced in the fall of 2006 and was as much of an instant success as previous years of PT Cruisers. Looking more like a small van than anything else, these cars feature a hatch back and 4 door access.
The 2007 PT Cruiser Sport Van is very reliable in an accident. It has consistently tested at an acceptable level or better during crash tests. The side collision was rated at a good rating when rating the back seat, providing protection to occupants such as children. This vehicle also has a very high roll over tolerance and is very difficult to roll over due to its low center of gravity. There have been no safety recalls for this vehicle.
The 4 cylinder engine is able to give this vehicle more than enough power. The engine is a high output engine that allows the car to accelerate quickly and efficiently. Because both the car and the engine are small, the gas mileage on the PT Cruiser is very good, with it obtaining nearly 300 miles to the tank in the city. There are very few repairs needed for the vehicle and the reliability of this car is rather high. Even in the dead of a northern winter, it is quick to start up and warm up. The heater is very efficient as is the air conditioning.
Like most vans, the rear seats in the 2007 PT Cruiser Sport Van are removable. If for some reason one does not want to completely remove the seats but wants them out of the way, they can collapse and fold up against the front seats. This is very easily done with the simple press of a button and the pulling of a small strap. These seats then lock in place against the front seats, opening the back up for more storage space.
The base model PT Cruiser is not perfect. There are no perks such as standard cruise control. Small items like this should be checked into before purchasing the car. While such things are standard on most cars, the PT Cruiser does not carry them as standard objects. However, an analog clock and retro style interiors are standard. This helps to maintain the retro look of the vehicle both inside and outside.
