I purchased this TV for its smooth lines and modern look. My husband loved the ability to connect the TV directly to the Internet. We are both happy with this TV.
Generally we use the TV to watch Netflix and we love that the TV will link directly to our account. It is a lot more convenient than having to connect it to other devices first. The quality is very good even when streaming video from the Internet and many times the picture quality is better than older DVDs.
The thing that surprised me the most about this TV is the picture quality. When watching in high definition the picture is clear and sharp. It even makes regular TV and older DVDs look their best. The colors are vibrant and using this television set makes watching TV and movies much more enjoyable.
Connecting the set is very straightforward and the various ports and connectors on the back are well marked. This made set up quick and easy. Plus when its connected to the Internet it can be easily connected to a computer network. The sound is clear and a separate sound system isn't necessary, but it does enhance the experience.
Overall this is a great television set, although there are a couple of drawbacks. The first drawback to this television set is that the exterior plastic rim is easily damaged. I scratched mine in the first couple of weeks by using a rough cloth when dusting. The remote also stopped working about a month after bringing the set home. It was easy to replace, but was still a minor inconvenience.
I would recommend the Phillips LCD TV. The picture quality is amazing and the sound is some of the best that I have seen on a standard set. Installation is simple and connecting it to the Internet only takes a few minutes.
