The Panasonic Viera TC-P58S2 is a great television for your family - it's not super high-tech or impressive, but it's a nice starter TV for your first apartment or a small family. This might not be a super fancy television, but it has enough features - there's nothing outrageous, but most of those kinds of features tend to be all sizzle and no steak. This television provides basic image quality without all of these fluffy features that don't make a difference in the long run. It's relatively inexpensive, with a good black level performance, and grayscale accuracy. It's also fingerprint resistant, which is really nice if you have kids - they love to grab and point at the screen, and sometimes get a little too close, and this keeps their fingerprints from being impossible to clean. It has solid picture quality, and is a great television for this purpose - it gives you great images but doesn't come with all the extra and sometimes unneeded frills. It's a great plasma or flat-screen television, and offers great value for these kinds of televisions.
However, there are some not so great points about the Panasonic Viera - it uses a lot more power and energy than most other LCD screens. It's also not so great if the room you place it in is particularly bright, and the quality really goes down. The primary colors and gamma are also inaccurate representations of what you're watching, and don't capture the full color on the screen. While there are some flaws with the Panasonic Viera, it still offers great image quality and is a good plasma television. It's also a great price, and good if you're not looking for a lot of frills or gimmicks in your television. If you don't need all the extra special effects or extras, this is the television for you.
