The Panasonic model HDC-TM700K is a true hi-definition camcorder. It records at an amazing 1920x1080 resolution with 60 progressive recording. The recordings are excellent quality with bright and crisp colors.
The TM700K records in full-HD 1920x1080. This is higher then many people can even view on their own home TVs. But looking ahead, the videos you make today, will look even better in the future, we couldn't say that in the past.
The computer inside this Panasonic camcorder does an amazing job, even with moving objects. It uses a Lecia Dicomar high performance lens. Under every condition I recorded in; bright sunlight, dim lite nights, dust, and indoors, I was not disappointed with the resulting captured video from this light unit. The TM700K weighs only three pounds.
The lens is 35mm wide-Angle has a 12x optical zoom. The lens is great at 12x, but I would have preferred a camcorder at this price point ($999) to have a better zoom. The wide-Angle lens was outstanding at capturing the scene before me. Except for the zoom, as mentioned above, I really like the Lecia Dicomar lens in the HDC-TM700K.
The biggest problem I have with this Panasonic camcorder is the control panel/ menu system. I found it very difficult to navigate. I was force to read the owners manual more then once, and had to refer to it often when trying to do anything more then just make a simple recording. I have used many other camcorders and found them to be simply easier to find what I was looking for in the menu system.
This camcorder uses the following memory cards: SD, SDXC, SDHC-flash card. These cards should offer the owner enough options to have storage not be an issue. It comes standard with 32GB internal memory for storage.
Overall, I the Panasonic HDC-TM700K Hi-Def Camcorder creates great videos, but the menu system on it needs a major overhaul.
