For any James Bond fan who wants a top quality watch this is the obvious choice. First seen in the film Casino Royale, this Omega model has all the prestige and presence that befits a film star. The Omega watch company has been producing precision time pieces for more than 100 years but its connection with James Bond has pushed it into the limelight in recent years.

The watch has a sporty looking blue dial with luminous hands (which glow even in daylight), and an equally easy to see sweep seconds hand. As with all Omega Seamasters it has the wave pattern on the dial as well as the 007 logo. The strap is in stainless steel, with a very chunky, high quality feel to it. It definitely has the look and feel of a very expensive watch. After a while this watch can feel a bit heavy on the wrist, but this is something I grew accustomed to, and is to be expected with quality watches.

The movement is a mechanical one, and is one of Omega's finest and most accurate. It was developed by Omega and is certified as a chronometer by the Swiss Official Chronometer Control. Its accuracy is amazing - as good as a quartz watch without the hassle of changing batteries every couple of years. When checked against atomic clocks the Omega Seamaster is accurate to within a couple of seconds a month. This particular movement also features automatic winding so that as long as you are wearing the watch you never have to worry about winding it up. This does cause its own problems however, as it is best not to let the movement stand idle for long periods. One answer is to buy an automatic watch winder. It is worth noting that a mechanical watch needs to be serviced about every 5 years, and for this standard of watch you need to find a specialist watch repairer. This makes servicing pretty expensive.

The watch is also one of the few so-called diving watches that really can be used for serious diving. It is fully water resistant to a depth of 300 meters, and, whilst I have not tested this feature out, I feel quite confident about wearing it swimming in the sea or local pool.

Apart from the wonderful features which this watch has in abundance, it looks and feels like a million dollars. Because of this it's bound to get you noticed wherever you go.
