Octagonal Aqua 55 Gallon Tower Aquarium

Rating: 2 out of 5
  • Currently 2.0/5.0

The Octagonal Aqua 55 gallon tower aquarium is a great purchase for any fish owner, with a lot of space so that you can have all kinds of creatures. The dramatic design of this tank takes up little floor space, but once you set it somewhere, that is where it's going to have to stay as this aquarium is very heavy once filled. It is considered to be a self contained aquarium with concealed filtration so you never have to look at the ugly pipes and hoses that circulate the water. At eighty inches tall, this fish aquarium holds only fresh water, which is easier to clean and care for. The tank itself was a study clear acrylic with a black base and top. I loved that the filter, lights, plants and pump were all included in the price. Because this aquarium is made from acrylic, it is forty percent safer and easier to clean than glass. It accumulates less pond scum and other slime that grows on the inside of many fish tanks. The black lights in the bottom of the tank create beautiful colors that reflect off of the fluorescent fake plants inside the tank.

I purchased this aquarium unable to find any reviews on it before hand. I paid an MSRP of $1,499.99 for this fish tank and even was able to have it delivered to my door. I found out the hard way that you must leave the lights on in the tank at all times, otherwise, the fish can get too cold and die since there is no heat sensor. This is not ideal if you live in a small space as the light is rather bright. Overall, I give this fish aquarium a 2 as I was unaware of how to put it together since there were no instructions. You cannot keep very large fish in this tank, and you have to be selective of how many you keep in it as some will grow rather large, taking up more room and killing off your smaller fish.
