Review of Minelab Safari Metal Detector* (price, reviews, best, expensive)

I recently took up a hobby that is becoming ever more popular, that is metal detecting.* I have long observed those hardy folk out on the beach at the crack of dawn in all weathers, searching for that star find.* I became more and more fascinated, so decided to join in the fun.*
My research seemed to conclude that the best 2 suppliers on the market place were Whites and Minelab.* After a little weighing up of their products I was swayed towards Minelab's new Safari version and I couldn't be more pleased.*
At $1000 it is a bit pricey, and I am fully aware that I could have picked one much cheaper, but I always believe that you get what you pay for, and this is proving to be correct.* This little beauty apparently goes much deeper than some of the less expensive detectors, indeed I was recently in the company of a fellow 'hunter', who had been over one particular spot on a beach many times over, when he was astonished to see me unearth jewelery from around 8 or 9 inches in depth at the first time of asking.*
The precise and advanced technology it uses gives it the edge over competitors and has once and for all expelled my previous belief that these metal detectors were toys.* They most certainly are not, in actual fact Minelab detectors are I understand, used by the US military.*
The adjustable shaft length is great for me, being vertically challenged, and the differing sound settings for different targets is terrific.* There are 4 pre-set factory modes which cover all eventualities and the display is clear and sharp.*
Whites DFX is in the same price bracket and seems to be of similar ability, but I think the Safari has the edge.* I have uncovered a vast array of coins, rings, and alike in a very short time -*I look forward to discovering that illusive fortune find!*
I have been wanting to buy a another detector. I currently have a Garrett Mark II sea hunter I use for everything in and around Daytona, Florida. I,ve have had the Mark II going on for 6 years. It,s a really good machine but I dig everything e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g!!!! When I go out I will spend 2-4hrs at a time. My back, neck and arm hurt all the time and I hunt almost every day. I want another really good light machine that can knock out the trash. My first choice is the Whites VX3. But the $1095.00 is a lot monie$$$$$$. The VX3 dose not have a life time warranty which to me says something about how Whites feels about the quality of their machine! Only the Tesoro has a life time warranty but the only one Tesoro makes that I like is the Sand Shark and, I don't want another P I machine. My 2nd choice is the Minelab Safari Pro. Cost is $999.99 Also no Warranty and I don't like the idea of the re-chargeing battery pack. (Big pain in the ass) and expensive to replace the battery pack not to mention the transformer to charge the darn thing if its ever lost. 3rd chioce is a mid level detector either a Garrett Ace 350 @ 297.99 or a Garrett A T Pro @ 594.95 and lets face it very few of us ever really find enough to pay for the detector, Ever!
